Default Hi I'm new.

Hi everyone,
I just need somewhere to talk about my problems, especially now that I'm doing m leaving cert. I believe I have a form of a disorder, I haven't been to a doctor about it because I believe I can handle it myself( foolish I know) but I think coming on here for support is a move in the right direction. I just feel so inadequate at the moment, and it's making everything worse, I find things difficult more frequently and I hate it. I just don't know what to do.

I'm so lucky, I'm a good student, I have a place in my art portfolio course for next year, wonderful friends family and boyfriend.... but I just can't help myself. I know it's stupid and I know it's not healthy.

I'm just rambling on and on....

anyway, I hope I can offer some you words of support and spur you on in your recovery.

Hi Ciarie welcome to Bodywhys
Oh good luck with the leaving cert and well done on your place in the art portfolio course, I bet you are chuffed.
Is there anyone you could talk to about this? A close friend or family member?
Would you even attend the support group or the online one? they can be very helpful.
You are truely right your taken the first step by realisen that this behaviour is disorded. I am very proud of you and admire you for this bravery. It can be hard coming to terms with admitting it. *huuuuuugs*
Life is worth the fight don't let this ED overcome you.
take care and all the best
Hannah

I agree with Hannah, the first step is realising that something is up, so well done you cuz that can be hard!!
I've found that once you've told somebody, it helps A LOT, cuz then they know to keep an eye on you and help you. Once somebody knows, its almost a motivation to get better, to try to get better, especially if it's somebody who loves you.
The road to recovery is long and it can be hard, but it is so worth it. After a while, you come to like what you see in the mirror, to enjoy eating again.

good luck with everything sweetie
